Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop corrugated packaging structures using CAD design software (e.g., ArtiosCAD, Impact, AutoCAD).
  • Create innovative, cost-effective, and production-friendly packaging solutions based on customer specifications and product protection needs.
  • Prepare structural design files, dielines, and detailed technical drawings for production and client approval.
  • Conduct performance testing and fit analysis to ensure packaging durability and compliance with customer and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the graphic design, production, and sales teams to ensure designs meet functional, visual, and cost requirements.
  • Maintain accurate design documentation, specifications, and project records.
  • Support the sample-making process using cutting tables (e.g., Kongsberg, Esko) and other prototyping tools.
  • Evaluate materials, board grades, and structural integrity for packaging performance optimization.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance packaging quality, efficiency, and sustainability.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in corrugated structural design within the packaging industry.
  • Proficiency in design software such as ArtiosCAD, Esko, or AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of corrugated board grades, converting processes, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of packaging testing standards (e.g., ISTA) and sustainability practices is a plus.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Folding Cartons or Display Packaging (POP/POS).
  • Familiarity with digital cutting tables and sample-making equipment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
