Cost Accountant

Experience: Minimum 3 Years
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
Professional Qualification: CMA / ICWA

Job Summary

The Cost Accountant will manage and analyze the organization’s cost structure, maintain accurate cost records, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The role focuses on cost control, financial reporting, and supporting operational teams with timely costing insights.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Costing & Analysis

• Maintain standard cost models and update BOMs and routings.
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to identify variances.
• Conduct cost audits and highlight cost-saving opportunities.
• Support costing for new products and process modifications.
• Monitor inventory valuation, WIP, and finished goods costing.

2. Financial Reporting

• Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports and dashboards.
• Support month-end closing activities related to costing and inventory.
• Maintain accurate cost records within ERP systems.
• Perform reconciliation of cost accounts and conduct variance analysis.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and cost forecasts.
• Coordinate with operations and procurement teams to review cost drivers.
• Support cost-control initiatives and performance metrics.

4. Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and organizational policies.
• Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
• Improve and maintain cost-control systems, processes, and procedures.

• Good understanding of ERP systems and financial controls.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
