Job Purpose:
The Cost & Reporting Accountant is responsible for managing product costing, analyzing cost variances, and preparing periodic financial reports that support business decisions. This role plays a key part in ensuring cost accuracy, controlling manufacturing expenses, and providing insights to enhance profitability within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Costing & Inventory Accounting

Prepare and maintain accurate
standard costs
, ensuring updates for raw materials, packaging, labor, and overheads.

Analyze
production variances
, including material usage, price variances, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption.

Validate and reconcile
inventory movements
(RM, PM, WIP, FG) on a monthly basis.

Support month-end closing activities to ensure accurate
COGS reporting
.

Conduct periodic
cost analysis
to support pricing decisions and promotional evaluations.
2. Reporting & Financial Analysis

Prepare monthly
management reports
including cost statements, margin analysis, and expense dashboards.

Analyze trends in product margins, production efficiency, and operational KPIs.

Support the preparation of
annual budgets
and
forecasts
related to manufacturing and supply chain costs.

Provide financial insights to Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Commercial teams.
3. Internal Controls & Compliance

Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.

Participate in periodic stock counts and verify the accuracy of inventory valuations.

Maintain and review BOMs (Bill of Materials) and ensure consistent costing methodology across the business.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with the
Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Commercial
teams to understand cost drivers and operational performance.

Support new product launches by providing costings and margin evaluations.

Assist in system improvements (ERP enhancements, automation tools, dashboards).
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional certification (CMA/CPA) is a plus.

2–5 years of experience
in costing, reporting, or management accounting—preferably in the
FMCG or manufacturing
sector.

Strong knowledge of
standard costing
, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.

Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).

Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of Power BI is an advantage.
