Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to manage and control production costs in our workwear garments factory. The role focuses on cost analysis, budgeting, standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory control to support efficient manufacturing operations and improve profitability.
Key ResponsibilitiesCosting & Analysis
- Prepare cost sheets for workwear garments (overalls, uniforms, jackets, trousers, etc.)
- Calculate standard costs for fabrics, trims, accessories, labor, and overheads
- Conduct variance analysis (material, labor, and overhead) and report deviations
- Analyze CM (Cost of Making) and FOB pricing for local and export orders
Production & Inventory Control
- Monitor cutting, stitching, finishing, and packing costs
- Track fabric consumption, wastage, and efficiency ratios
- Coordinate with production and stores for inventory valuation and control
- Ensure accurate WIP (Work in Process) reporting
Budgeting & Reporting
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets
- Generate cost reports for management decision-making
- Support pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and margins
- Assist in monthly and annual closing related to cost accounts
Compliance & Coordination
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Coordinate with merchandising, production, procurement, and finance teams
- Support internal and external audits related to cost and inventory
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- ICMA (Pakistan) / CA Inter / CMA / ACCA (Part Qualified or Qualified) preferred
- 3–6 years of experience as a Cost Accountant in a garments or textile manufacturing unit
- Strong understanding of garment manufacturing processes, especially workwear
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting & management accounting
- Hands-on experience with garment costing and BOMs
- Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables)
- Experience with ERP / accounting software (SAP, Oracle, or local ERP)
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Good communication and coordination skills
