Cost Accountant/Analyst

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our team in a full-time hybrid role based in Monroe. This position plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations and driving informed business decisions through accurate cost analysis and reporting.

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for preparing and analyzing cost reports, evaluating each stage of the manufacturing process, developing pricing quotes for the sales team, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. This role is vital in supporting new business opportunities by ensuring accurate and competitive quoting.

The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally to deliver insights that enhance financial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Core duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate plant and machinery capacity to support existing and projected business demand.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to manufacturing costs, machine efficiency, inventory valuation, and operational expenses.
  • Assess the impact of changes in raw materials, labor, manufacturing processes, and logistics on product costs.
  • Analyze actual production costs and prepare periodic performance reports for management review.
  • Develop detailed cost analyses and prepare pricing quotes to support sales opportunities.
  • Provide management with reporting on cost drivers, pricing structures, and product profitability.
  • Maintain and enhance processes and internal controls related to manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
  • Lead and manage quarterly and annual inventory cycle counts.
  • Perform month-end close activities related to cost accounting.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes with accurate cost data and analysis.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BA in Accounting Finance.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in Accounting, Cost Accounting preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience with inventory.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Extremely strong Excel skills, especially advanced modeling and analytical techniques.
  • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships with different areas of the corporation.
  • Must have experience creating sales quotes, cost analyses and inventory.
  • Background in Accounting and familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software and Proficient with Microsoft Excel (MUST).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, analytical skills and, time-management skills.

Pay: $95,000.00 per year
