The Opportunity

HealthEZ is seeking a highly analytical Cost Containment Analyst who combines public health knowledge with business intelligence expertise to identify, analyze, and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality outcomes. This role requires a unique blend of healthcare understanding and advanced data analytics capabilities to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.

What you’ll do

  • Identify and analyze cost-saving opportunities across programs, operations, and service delivery
  • Develop and monitor cost containment initiatives, tracking savings and ROI
  • Partner with department leaders to implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining quality standards
  • Create financial models to project the impact of proposed interventions and policy changes
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of healthcare initiatives
  • Monitor health outcomes metrics in relation to expenditures
  • Support value-based care initiatives through data-driven insights
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources
  • Leverage Microsoft Fabric for data integration, analytics, and reporting solutions
  • Create automated reporting systems to track key performance indicators and cost metrics
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across analytics platforms
  • Build and maintain data models that support cost containment analysis
  • Collaborate with IT and data teams to optimize data infrastructure
  • Develop predictive models to forecast costs and identify risk areas
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to support strategic decision-making

What we expect from you

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling)
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar data platform solutions
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas)
  • Experience with data visualization best practices
  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare analytics, public health, or cost analysis
  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives
  • Experience analyzing healthcare claims data, utilization patterns, or program costs
  • Background in public health programs, population health, or healthcare operation
  • Understanding of public health principles, metrics, and program evaluation
  • Knowledge of healthcare finance, reimbursement models, and cost accounting
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex data to non-technical audiences
  • Project management capabilities and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred (MPH, MHA, MBA, or MS in Analytics/Data Science)
  • Experience with additional Microsoft tools (Azure, Power Automate, Power Apps)
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis software (R, Python, SAS)
  • Experience with healthcare quality metrics (HEDIS, CAHPS, clinical outcomes)
  • Understanding of value-based care models and alternative payment methodologies
  • Experience in government health programs (Medicaid, Medicare) or managed care

Additional Opportunity Details:

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $70,000-$120,000*

  • Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role.
