Job Summary
The Cost Control Engineer is responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling project costs to ensure projects are completed within approved budgets. The role involves cost estimation, budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting while supporting project teams with accurate financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost breakdown structures for projects
- Monitor project expenditures and track actual costs versus budget
- Analyze cost variances and identify potential cost overruns
- Prepare regular cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial summaries
- Support project planning by providing cost-related data and recommendations
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and finance teams
- Review invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor payments for cost accuracy
- Assist in value engineering and cost optimization initiatives
- Maintain cost control systems, procedures, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and project requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Important: 4-5 years of experience in cost control and in the landscaping construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis
- Proficiency in cost control software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools
- Good understanding of project management principles
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
