We are hiring Cost Control Engineer with high rise building construction experience from UAE.

Job Summary:

Responsible for monitoring, controlling, and reporting all project costs from initiation to completion, ensuring that actual expenditures align with approved budgets and forecasts. Uses Earned Value Management (EVM) and other cost control tools to measure project performance and provide early warnings on variances. Works closely with planning, procurement, and site execution teams to maintain financial discipline and support project profitability

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain the project cost breakdown structure aligned with the WBS for accurate cost tracking and reporting
  • Prepare, review, and update the project budget in coordination with project managers, planners, and quantity surveyors
  • Monitor and record all committed costs, actual expenditures, and remaining forecasts against the approved budget at cost code level
  • Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) to measure project cost and schedule performance using CPI, SPI, and variance analysis
  • Analyse variances between budget, earned value, and actual cost to identify potential overruns and recommend corrective actions
  • Review and validate subcontractor and supplier cost data, ensuring alignment with contractual terms and project scope
  • Coordinate with the planning engineer to integrate cost and schedule data for accurate forecasting and reporting
  • Track changes to the project scope through approved change orders and update cost forecasts accordingly
  • Monitor site productivity rates, equipment utilization, and material wastage to assess cost impacts and efficiency improvements
  • Prepare and issue weekly and monthly cost control reports for management and client review, including trend analysis and forecasts to completion (EAC)
  • Verify and reconcile site material usage against procurement records to detect variances or potential losses
  • Liaise with procurement to ensure purchased materials and services align with budgetary allocations and project timelines
  • Participate in progress meetings to present cost performance metrics and highlight financial risks or opportunities
  • Assist project management in claims preparation by providing accurate cost data and historical cost records
  • Maintain detailed cost records, invoices, and backup documentation for audits, interim valuations, and final accounts
  • Ensure compliance with company cost control procedures and Dubai client-specific cost reporting standards
  • Support finance and commercial teams during project cash flow preparation and update based on actual site progress and EVM analysis

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 5 or more years of experience in building construction in GCC.
  • Proven track record of working on high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.
