Cost Accountant – Job Description
Job Summary
Detail-oriented Cost Accountant, preparing cost reports, developing cost-control systems, and supporting strategic decision-making. Skilled in cost allocation, budgeting, variance analysis, and improving financial accuracy to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities

Collect, classify, and analyze cost information related to production, operations, and company activities.

Prepare monthly and quarterly cost reports, including cost summaries, variances, and financial performance insights.

Monitor cost centers and ensure accurate allocation of direct and indirect costs.

Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted costs and provide corrective action recommendations.

Support the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts based on historical data and operational needs.

Assist in pricing decisions by calculating product/service costs and evaluating profitability margins.

Review and reconcile inventory records, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.

Coordinate with procurement, production, and finance departments to ensure cost accuracy and consistency.
