Cost Controller (Industrial)

The Mandate

Farand Teknik Industri is seeking a sharp, field-oriented Cost Controller to join our industrial operations in Raysut. In the world of technical manufacturing, profitability is won or lost on the shop floor. We need a professional who can bridge the gap between complex engineering projects and financial reporting. You will be responsible for tracking every OMR spent on Street 4, identifying variances in real-time, and implementing the controls necessary to keep our industrial output lean and profitable.

Core Responsibilities

• Project Cost Engineering: Establish and maintain baseline budgets for large-scale industrial projects, tracking actual expenditures against estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Variance Analysis & Mitigation: Conduct weekly "Actual vs. Budget" reviews, identifying cost overruns in labor, materials, or equipment, and working with site managers to implement corrective actions.
• Inventory & Material Control: Monitor the lifecycle of raw materials and consumables in the Raysut facility, ensuring accurate valuation and minimizing wastage or "shrinkage" in the supply chain.
• Work-in-Progress (WIP) Valuation: Calculate and report on the value of ongoing industrial works, ensuring that revenue recognition is accurate and reflects the true stage of completion.
• Standard Costing Management: Develop and update standard cost models for our industrial processes, ensuring that our pricing and bidding remain competitive yet profitable.
• Operational Liaison: Act as the financial voice in production meetings, translating complex cost data into actionable insights for engineers and plant supervisors.

Professional Profile

• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in cost control or management accounting, with at least 4 years specifically within the industrial, manufacturing, or construction sectors.
• Mandatory Qualifications: CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or a strong background in Industrial Engineering with a Finance degree.
• Expert mastery of ERP systems (such as SAP CO module, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced data modeling in Excel.
• Thorough understanding of the Omani Labour Law and industrial safety standards.
• Bilingual Proficiency: Strong command of English and Arabic is essential for communicating with a multicultural technical team and local suppliers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Industrial Engineering.
