Cost Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor project costs and expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
• Perform cost analysis and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Implement and monitor Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to track project performance and cost efficiency.
• Evaluate variations, claims, and change orders, and assess their financial impact on the project.
• Coordinate with project managers, planning engineers, procurement teams, and site personnel to obtain accurate cost data.
• Prepare periodic cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and management presentations.
• Analyze project risks and recommend cost-control measures to improve project profitability.
• Review subcontractor and supplier quotations and provide commercial recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements, and project cost control standards.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, commitments, and financial performance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Cost Engineer in high-rise building construction projects.
• Minimum 5 years of UAE construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost analysis techniques.
• Professional certification such as CCP, PMP, or Construction Management certification is preferred.
• Good knowledge of project planning and scheduling principles.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and project financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost control software.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
