Cost Estimator – Construction Division (Abu Dhabi)

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Estimator to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and pricing proposals for commercial and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and project scope, ensuring that all tenders are submitted accurately and competitively.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze architectural, MEP, and structural drawings to extract accurate quantities.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and detailed cost estimates for materials, Labour, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Ensure all BOQs and pricing align with project scope and specifications.
• Send enquiries to vendors/subcontractors, evaluate quotations, and prepare comparison sheets.
• Develop item-wise rates using historical data, supplier quotes, and productivity norms.
• Conduct value engineering analysis to identify cost-saving alternatives.
• Prepare and submit tender documents, pricing summaries, and trade breakdowns within deadlines.
• Support the project team post-award by providing cost data, assumptions, and vendor backups.
• Track subcontractor claims, cost variations, and project cost performance.
• Maintain and update internal pricing databases and rate cards based on market trends.

Key Performance Indicators

• 100% BOQ accuracy and alignment with drawings.
• Timely tender submissions and proposal documentation.
• ≤1% deviation between estimated and awarded contract values.
• Updated vendor rate database every month.
• Complete and accurate handover to the project execution team after award.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as an Estimator in the UAE construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, rate analysis, tendering, and estimation software (AutoCAD, MS Excel, etc.).
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Familiar with local suppliers, subcontractors, and market rates.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
