The Netflix Advertising Legal & Policy Team is seeking a talented and passionate lawyer to support our ad supported offering.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, the successful candidate will help support our growing ads team, drafting and negotiating contracts, media terms, supporting upfronts, and other related contracting. They should have in-depth experience working with advertising clients and a passion for practical dealmaking and business-oriented lawyering in the entertainment space. The lawyer should be highly curious, eager to jump into research projects, partner with Ads Policy, and help the business navigate regulated industries and the evolving advertising landscape. They must be highly collaborative, working effectively with teammates, internal clients, and cross functional partners, including Ad Sales, Ads Policy, AdTech, Product, Privacy, and Content Business and Legal Affairs. This is a great opportunity for a mid-level attorney to join our Advertising Legal & Policy team and support our growing business while continuing to hone their skills and develop their industry knowledge.

This role is based in either Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY and reports into a Director on our Advertising Legal & Policy team. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, demonstrate great initiative and be excited and inspired by the Netflix culture .

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience in both law firm and in-house settings, including direct support of advertising and entertainment clients.

  • Extensive experience drafting, negotiating, and tracking advertising agreements, including:

    • Media buying agreements (with IAB standard terms)

    • Sponsorship agreements (including live programming and sports)

    • Ad tech platform agreements

    • Content licensing agreements with advertising and marketing provisions

  • Demonstrated legal research and policy guidance experience, ideally with regulated ad categories (e.g., gambling, alcohol, healthcare), supporting compliance for new ad formats and evolving product features.

  • Experience in the entertainment industry or with live event advertising is a strong plus. Knowledge of AI-related advertising issues is also valued.

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $360,000 - $530,000.
