We are seeking an experienced In-House Counsel to manage a wide range of legal matters, with a particular emphasis on construction law, litigation management, and insurance-related disputes. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned legal professional who is ready to take a hands-on role in protecting and advancing the company’s interests.
Responsibilities:
- Legal Advice and Counsel: Provide expert legal advice to the company's executives, management, and employees on a wide range of legal issues.
- Contract Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts and agreements, including vendor agreements, customer contracts, and partnership agreements.
- Compliance: Ensure the company's compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Develop and implement compliance programs and policies.
- Litigation Management: Manage litigation and legal disputes, working with external counsel when necessary.
- Intellectual Property: Protect the company's intellectual property rights, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
- Corporate Governance: Advise on corporate governance matters, including board meetings, corporate policies, and ethical guidelines.
- Risk Management: Identify and evaluate legal risks and propose strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Real Estate: Handle real estate transactions, leases, and related legal matters.
- Employment Law: Provide guidance on employment law issues, including hiring, termination, and workplace policies.
- Data Privacy: Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Training: Conduct legal training for employees on relevant topics.
- Policy Development: Develop and update company policies to ensure legal compliance.
- Mergers and Acquisitions: Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
- Liaison with External Counsel: Manage relationships with external legal counsel and oversee their work.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Bar Admission: Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience: [X] years of experience practicing law, preferably with some experience as in-house counsel or in a corporate legal environment.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of corporate law, contract law, compliance, and other relevant areas of law.
