Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Counselor to provide professional group and individual counseling as part of our residential substance abuse treatment team. In this vital role, you will ensure high-quality patient care, and foster a positive environment for both clients and staff. Your expertise will guide the delivery of evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral management, and trauma-informed care, to diverse populations suffering from substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning for clients across various age groups and needs.
- Deliver individual, group, and psychotherapy sessions utilizing techniques such as motivational interviewing, applied behavior analysis, and social work principles.
- Oversee crisis management protocols, including crisis intervention and PTSD care, ensuring client safety and effective response strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, patient records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
- Coordinate case management activities
Skills
- Proven experience in behavioral health or mental health counseling with a focus on substance abuse
- Strong knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and behavior management strategies.
- Expertise in crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols to handle urgent situations effectively.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Excellent case management skills with the ability to develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate patient assessment results.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while demonstrating leadership as a clinical supervisor.
