Position Overview
We are seeking a licensed counselor to provide:
- Mental health counseling
- Substance use disorder (SUD) counseling
- Co-occurring disorder treatment

Duties
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning for clients with mental health and substance use disorders.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to ensure client safety during acute episodes or emergencies.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligned with best practices in behavioral health, addiction medicine, and PTSD care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and clinical reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical record standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, case managers, and community providers—to coordinate care and facilitate seamless patient transitions across settings such as hospitals or community clinics.
- Engage in ongoing research activities and data collection to support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice enhancements.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), LISW-S, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or LPCC-S required.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral health settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and documentation standards.
- Familiarity with addiction counseling techniques, trauma-focused therapies including PTSD care, and behavior management strategies.
- Ability to perform client assessments effectively using diagnostic tools such as ICD coding systems; experience with intake procedures is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging clients across diverse populations in individual or group therapy environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage crises confidently while maintaining a compassionate approach; experience in hospital or home & community care settings is advantageous.
- Knowledge of research methodologies related to behavioral health outcomes; proficiency with data collection tools is a plus.
