Counter/ Cashier

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team! The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role is essential in maintaining efficient store operations and ensuring customer satisfaction. Prior experience with POS systems and retail sales is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
• Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries or demos
• Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
• Maintain knowledge of store products to upsell or recommend items effectively
• Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and well-stocked
• Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and inventory management as needed
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly
• Support supervising staff in training new team members or overseeing daily operations when required
• Promote store promotions and special offers to enhance sales opportunities
• Maintain professional phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors

Qualifications

• Previous cashier or retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
• Strong basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
• Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not required
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demos is beneficial
• Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service and uphold store standards

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $22.00 per hour
