We are seeking an experienced and reliable Counterbalance Driver to join our clients warehouse operations team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a vital role within our organisation, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout our warehouse facility. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in maintaining our high standards of warehouse operations, ensuring that stock is received, stored, and dispatched accurately and efficiently.

As a Counterbalance Driver, you will be at the heart of our logistics operations, working closely with warehouse supervisors, goods-in teams, and dispatch personnel to ensure smooth daily operations. This position requires someone who takes pride in their work, maintains high safety standards, and understands the importance of accuracy in inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

Forklift Operations

• Operate counterbalance forklift trucks safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and health and safety regulations
• Conduct pre-operational checks on forklift equipment daily, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements immediately
• Maneuver loads of varying sizes and weights throughout the warehouse, ensuring safe stacking and storage practices
• Navigate warehouse aisles and loading bays with precision, maintaining awareness of pedestrians and other vehicle operators
• Ensure all loads are properly secured and balanced before transportation
• Maintain forklift truck cleanliness and perform basic maintenance tasks as required

Goods Inward Procedures

• Receive incoming deliveries and unload vehicles safely and efficiently using counterbalance forklift equipment
• Check all incoming deliveries against delivery notes and purchase orders to verify accuracy of quantities and product specifications
• Inspect goods for any visible damage, discrepancies, or quality issues upon arrival
• Document and report any shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the warehouse supervisor immediately
• Process goods-in documentation accurately, ensuring all paperwork is completed and filed correctly
