Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, attentive Front Counter/Server to join our dynamic team in delivering exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, a solid understanding of food and beverage service, and experience working in fast-paced or fine dining environments. This role involves engaging with guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction in a welcoming atmosphere.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments using POS systems
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of tables, service stations, and dining areas
- Assist with bussing tables and resetting for new guests as needed
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are consistently met in food handling and service
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Provide guest relations by addressing inquiries, special requests, or concerns promptly
Requirements
- Previous experience in Italian food service, restaurant, or hospitality industry preferred; fine dining or nightclub experience is a plus
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Ability to upsell menu items effectively to enhance guest satisfaction and sales
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with food preparation or kitchen operations is advantageous but not required
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights; weekend availability preferred
- Previous host/host or bussing experience is beneficial but not mandatory
