A. Collects, sorts, transports, and distributes supplies, receipts, linens, records, and communication between the hospital and clinics. (60% of time)

1. Collects supplies from various departments and clinics of Cass Regional, as dictated by the Central Supply Supervisor, to be delivered twice daily.

2. Sorts and distributes to appropriate departments and off-site clinics daily.

3. Complete delivery of supplies and information daily.

B. Responsible for safe handling and delivery of pharmacy and lab supplies. (5% of time)

1. Ensure that pharmacy supplies are adequately stored and protected by keeping temperatures of drugs at 33 to 42 degrees.

2. Ensure that lab supplies are adequately stored and protected by keeping temperatures of supplies at 33 to 42 degrees.

3. Make sure certain medications and supplies are refrigerated at appropriate temperatures.

C. Safely transports hazardous materials. (5% of time)

1. Delivers hazardous wastes to designated area, weekly.

2. Transports nitrogen and oxygen as needed.

3. Transports spore test to Central Supply for Infection Control, weekly.

D. Cleans and maintains Central Supply van (5% of time)

1. Ensure oil change has been completed every 3000 miles.

2. Maintains general upkeep of Central Supply van by completing maintenance checklist for the van, weekly and making repairs as needed.

3. Have tires rotated every 6000 miles.

4. Logs Central Supply van mileage daily.

5. Clean and wash interior and exterior of Central Supply van.

6. Ensures vehicle inspection and license is obtained prior to expiration.

E. Perform general stocking duties on a daily basis (20%)

1. Assist Central Supply with delivering and stocking of supplies to various departments.

Primary Purpose: To transport supplies, medications, monies, diagnostic reports, linens, and records between clinics and the hospital.

Formal Policy-Setting Responsibilities: No formal responsibility. The policies associated with the job’s purpose and essential responsibilities are set by others.

Routine Decision Making: Determines priorities of deliveries.

Formal Supervisory Responsibility: No formal supervisory responsibility.

Required Knowledge: Working knowledge of Courier vehicle.

Required Skills and Ability: Ability to operate Courier vehicle.

Unusual Working Conditions: Driving in various weather conditions.

Education and Certification/ Registration Required for the Position: High school education; must have current valid Missouri Class E Driver’s License.
