Courier - Temporary

Easter Plumas Health Care is currently hiring a Temporary Courier. The Courier is responsible for the transportation of medical charts, files, x-rays, laboratory specimens, equipment, financial records and paychecks as well as other needed supplies between the Loyalton, Portola, and Graeagle Medical campuses. The Courier transports Protected Health Information and bio-hazardous materials in accordance with State and Federal regulations.

This is a temporary position of approximately 3+ months, with potential to be hired on full time or part time at the conclusion of 3-month period.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Drive and operate a vehicle between the Loyalton, Portola, and Graeagle campuses one to two times per day, or as needed.
• Deliver and pick up confidential documents containing protected health information, patient’s medical records, x-rays, lab samples/reports as directed.
• Deliver and pick up mail at the Loyalton post office and deliver to Admitting at the hospital.
• Deliver and pick up central supply items as needed.
• Distribute central supply items to appropriate areas as directed.
• Deliver and pick up financial records.
• Picks up mail from Administrative/Business Offices and delivers it to the post office.
• Delivers drugs and vaccinations to clinics as needed.
• Coordinates and maintains service to the company vehicle and reports any major problems to the supervisor.
• Trains new hires to the department.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• In order to be covered by EPHC’s liability insurance, drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must maintain a clean driving record, both on and off duty.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Current California Driver’s License
