About the role
We are looking for an employee that can provide transportation of supplies and lab specimens to all PE locations and deliver various documents to other offices in the community.
Supervision Received: Reports to Procurement and Facilities Manager.
Supervision Exercised: None.
Typical Physical Demands: Requires long periods of sitting while driving, excessive stopping, bending, and lifting up to 100 pounds at waist level.
Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in both a professional work environment and driving within the community. Involves some contact with staff and the public.
Responsibilities
- Complete all transports between all PE facilities in an efficient, safe, and timely manner
- Observes all state and local traffic regulations, safety protocol, and hospital safety policies and procedures
- Promptly reports any safety incidents that may occur with the vehicle or in operation the vehicle
- Completes safety incident reports completely and within established time frames
- Assist in moving furniture as needed and assisting maintenance staff as requested
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record
- Pack supplies for client supply orders
- Maintain inventory of supplies
- Transports supplies, mail, lab work, and other miscellaneous items to PE offices and other local businesses
- Responsible for obtaining signatures of deliveries to certain areas and all refrigerated packages
- Responsible for cleanliness of company vehicles, maintain proper maintenance schedules of oil changes, tire rotations, and reporting other vehicle issues with proper personnel
- Responsible for delivering inventory to nurses; stations and office areas
- Must be physically fit due to heavy lifting and must be self-motivated
- Must represent PE in a professional manner
Location & commitments
Full-time role based at our Greenville Arlington Blvd. location, Monday-Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Overtime may be required to ensure patients are taken care, tasks are completed, and calls are returned in a timely manner.
Weekend work is rare but can occasionally be necessary.
Candidate requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Full physical requirements necessary to holding of Class “C” driver’s license, including vision correctable to 20/20, dull range of vision and absence of medical or legal restrictions or impairments prohibiting the holding of a valid driver’s license.
1 year driving experience or an equivalent combination of Commercial Driver’s License and experience in parking and transportation required
Minimum two years of transporting experience
Experience transporting medical supplies and/or live specimens preferred
Basic familiarity with computers and ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications
Familiarity with basic medical terminology a plus
