Since 2007, Graduation Alliance has worked with more than 650 state agencies, school districts, community colleges, and workforce boards around the country to recruit, re-enroll, educate, and mentor students. Graduation Alliance also operates The American Academy, an exemplary online high school that is fully accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission, a division of Cognia.

Our full-service diploma completion programs can be delivered in facility-based, blended, or fully online settings. These programs are supported with recruiting, transcript analysis, technology, coaching and mentoring, and robust support services.

Course Quality & Content Developer Job Description

Position Description:

The role is integral on the curriculum team, focusing on Quality Assurance for all course content and providing instructional design support, edits, and course fixes.



Duties And Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Course Building & QA: Build, QA, edit, launch, and maintain new and revised courses using provided eLearning tools and Learning Management systems (LMS).
  • Quality Control: Ensure all course content meets department guidelines for standards for grammar, format, and accessibility.
  • Documentation: Create, update, and insert course syllabi, update course maps, and write/edit assignment rubrics as assigned. Create and revise department training materials as assigned.
  • Support: Monitor and assist with course fix requests for teachers and students during occasional scheduled shifts, and support the Quality Assurance manager with assigned projects.
  • Instructional Design: Provide subject-matter expert instructional design support related to content area of expertise as needed. Instructional design tasks may include but are not limited to: conducting curriculum alignments to states standards, addressing course gaps by creating, mapping, and revising high school core subject content, coordinating with teachers on course enhancements and revisions, reviewing and providing feedback on content written by other instructional designers.

Experience & Skills

  • Apply 1+ year of instructional design, content development, and/or quality assurance (QA) experience to develop, revise, review course builds, identify errors, and implement corrections within established error thresholds across all high school core subjects (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Health)
  • Demonstrate detail-oriented revision skills by reviewing all deliverables against QA checklists prior to submission, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Interpret and apply state learning standards to course content in assigned subject-area of expertise, ensuring objectives and assessments align with required benchmarks.
  • Write or revision lesson content to the required reading level ensuring accessibility and clarity for diverse learners.
  • Apply principles of pedagogy, instructional design, and online/blended learning modalities to create engaging, standards-aligned instructional materials.
  • Collaborate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment, consistently meeting project timelines and quality expectations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and the ability to support at-risk students by designing clear, accessible, and student-friendly instructional materials as well assupporting internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to utlilize educational technology and development tools [Learning Management Systems, eLearning softchalk, Project Management software, Google Suite, including Google AI, tracking tools and spreadsheets] to manage tasks, troubleshoot issues, monitor progress, and report project status.

Education

  • An instructional design degree, certification, or previous experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree.
