JOB
The Court Administrator performs a variety of responsible, highly skilled clerical and paraprofessional tasks in support of the Municipal Court of Record. This position is responsible for the effective daily operations of the Court, including implementing policies established by the Judge. Duties include maintaining accurate records, processing payments, issuing warrants, and responding to public inquiries. The role requires a high level of accuracy, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive judicial information and ensuring compliance with established court procedures.

The position description is subject to change by the TOWN as the needs of the TOWN and requirements of the position change.Oversee daily operations of the Municipal Court of Record, including case processing, docket preparation, and records management. Implement policies and procedures established by the Municipal Judge and ensure compliance with judicial orders and applicable laws. Coordinate with the Judge, Prosecutor, Police Department, and other departments to manage court schedules, hearings, and trial dockets.Maintain, monitor, and audit the court management database, warrant processing and reports delinquent citations to the proper agencies.Receive appearance bonds from persons charges with offenses.Respond to public inquiries regarding court procedures, case status, and legal documentation.Prepare and submit required reports to state and local agencies, including monthly and quarterly statistical data. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Manage and oversee all financial transactions related to court operations, including cash handling and credit card processing, to ensure accuracy, security, and compliance with financial policies.Oversee the secure handling of cash transactions, including receipt, reconciliation, and timely deposit of funds. Process credit card payments using the Tyler Technologies system, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded in the court’s financial records. Verify payment amounts and ensure all fines, fees, and bonds are applied correctly according to court guidelines.
