ABOUT THE POSITION
Court Operations Directors are responsible for managing, directing and integrating broad, comprehensive Court-wide programs, including courthouse operations, litigation procedure, juror services, and courtroom support programs and services, to meet Court-wide business and operational needs. Programs and services are delivered through central and district staff assigned to support court operations, courtroom support, and juror services. Responsibilities are broad in scope, allow for a high degree of program and administrative discretion and are evaluated in terms of overall program results and cost effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead division operations and planning by setting work plans, managing budgets and ensuring programs, processes and systems align with Court goals and service standards.

Manage and develop staff performance through clear expectations, coaching, recognition and corrective action consistent with HR policies and labor agreements.

Shape and execute division vision in collaboration with Court leadership and judicial officers, fostering a high-performing, service-oriented workforce and positive employee relations.

Oversee strategic programs and policies, ensure compliance with legal requirements and alignment with Court-wide strategies.

Advise Court leadership and partner with other divisions to drive process improvements and organizational effectiveness.

This is an at-will managerial position. The Trial Court Employment Protection and Governance Act (SB 2140) authorizes the Court to exclude managerial employees from the employment protection provisions of the Act subject to meet and confer.
TELEWORK OPPORTUNITIES
This position is eligible for partial telework following an initial training period.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To qualify, you must meet one of the following options at the final filing date of this bulletin:
OPTION I: Six (6) years of experience as a Deputy Director or Senior Administrator for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County – AND – United States citizenship.
OPTION II: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university* -AND- two (2) years of experience as a Deputy Director or Senior Administrator for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County – AND – United States citizenship.
OPTION III: Six (6) years of progressive responsibility managing** multiple administrative support functions and/or operations in a Court or public entity at the level of Deputy Director or Senior Administrator – AND – United States citizenship.
OPTION VI: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university* -AND- four (4) years of progressive responsibility managing** multiple administrative support functions and/or operations in a Court or public entity at the level of Deputy Director or Senior Administrator – AND – United States citizenship.

**Managing is defined as having the responsibility for planning, organizing, implementing, and administering the work of a functional program or section through subordinate supervisory staff.Note: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
