Coverage/Intake Clerk

Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Coverage/Intake Clerk will complete the intake of new claims and verify coverage, and update policies. This position will input new incidents and new claims into the claims system which are received via the mail, fax, or e-mail while maintaining the FROI Folder.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Open, categorize and sort incoming claims via mail, e-mail, and faxes. (FROI Folder)

2. Verify coverage by reviewing the policy portal and making necessary phone calls as needed.

3. Responsible for entering and updating policies.

4. Policy corrections

5. Updating critical fields within the claims system.

6. Communication with Underwriting Department as needed

7. Enter all claims data into system and attaching all claim material received into the claims system.

8. Assign completed claims to appropriate Supervisor.

9. Send acknowledgment letter to Employee upon new claim set up.

10. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
