Overview
Vision Elite Athletics is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and ensure accurate reporting. This role is vital for maintaining the integrity of our financial data, supporting budgeting and financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in various accounting software and a solid understanding of GAAP principles, with experience in both corporate and non-profit accounting environments. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and record journal entries accurately within accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Perform general ledger accounting functions, including balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and maintain double-entry bookkeeping accuracy.
- Assist with financial report writing, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Conduct account reconciliation procedures to verify the accuracy of financial data across various accounts.
- Support budgeting processes by providing relevant financial data and analysis.
- Handle payroll processing and related tax filings as needed.
- Maintain organized records of all financial transactions in accordance with company policies.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Stay updated on relevant governmental regulations affecting nonprofit or corporate accounting practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in corporate accounting, nonprofit accounting, or public accounting environments.
- Proficiency with multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles, financial concepts, and double-entry bookkeeping systems.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and journal entries.
- Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes, payroll management, and tax preparation is preferred.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and general ledger reconciliation accurately.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards if applicable to nonprofit organizations.
- Excellent organizational skills including 10 key typing proficiency for data entry tasks. This position is essential for maintaining the financial health of Vision Elite Athletics while supporting strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting and analysis.
