Job Title: CPA Partner / Director of Tax Strategy (Path to Equity)
Location: Sherman Oaks, CA (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Highly Competitive Base + Immediate Profit Sharing & Equity Opportunities
The Opportunity
Step into an established, highly profitable financial services firm in Sherman Oaks. We are acquiring a premier tax and bookkeeping practice with a deeply rooted, flat-fee client base and a fully tenured team of staff accountants—several of whom have been with the firm for 7 to 17 years.
We are not looking for someone to build a book of business from scratch or grind through data entry. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, locally licensed California CPA to take the technical helm of this specific office, oversee the existing senior staff, and help us scale our M&A roll-up strategy across Southern California.
The Role
By leveraging our seasoned local staff and fully compliant, secure offshore support teams, you will be completely insulated from routine ledger maintenance. Your role is purely focused on high-level review, tax strategy, and local leadership.
* Technical Sign-Off: Serve as the final reviewer and signing CPA for complex corporate (1120-S, 1120, 1065) and high-net-worth individual (1040) tax returns prepared by our senior staff.
* Proactive Advisory: Lead client consultations focused on forward-looking tax planning, entity structuring, and operational profitability.
* Team Leadership: Provide technical mentorship, escalation support, and workflow management for our existing tenured staff accountants.
* M&A Integration: Collaborate with the executive team to smoothly audit and transition client files from future acquired practices into our Sherman Oaks hub.
What We Are Looking For
* Licensure: An active, unencumbered California Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is strictly required.
* Experience: 8+ years of progressive tax experience, with heavy exposure to small-to-mid-sized business compliance and strategy.
* Software: Deep expertise in Lacerte and QuickBooks (Online and Desktop).
* Leadership: The ability to seamlessly step in and manage a veteran team of accountants while maintaining the trust of a legacy client base.
Why Join Us?
* Real Work-Life Balance: Our flat-fee, year-round recurring revenue model is designed to eliminate the traditional 70-hour busy season grind.
* Immediate Infrastructure: You are walking into a fully staffed office with consistent cash flow on day one.
* Ownership Path: A direct path to minority equity ownership, allowing you to build substantial wealth as the firm acquires more practices.
* Comprehensive Benefits: Health, vision, and dental insurance, 401(k) with match, and flexible PTO.
To Apply:
Please submit your resume and a brief note detailing your experience reviewing corporate returns and your current California CPA license status.
