As a Cradle-to-Grave Freight Broker, you’ll oversee the full freight cycle from start to finish. This includes prospecting and onboarding new customers, booking carriers, monitoring shipments, and ensuring on-time delivery. Serving as the primary point of contact for your accounts, you’ll be responsible for both business development and operational execution. This position is best suited for a driven, results-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, competitive environment and takes pride in building lasting customer relationships while consistently delivering operational excellence.
Experience Required:
- 5+ years of experience in freight brokerage/3PL
- Proven book of business with existing shipper relationships
- Strong understanding of logistics operations and sales dynamics in various markets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Experience in handling objections and negotiations in an inside sales environment
- Book of business is preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
- Manage full lifecycle (cradle-to-grave) brokerage operations, including sales, carrier procurement, freight tracking, and customer service
- Serve as the central point of communication between shippers and carriers throughout the freight cycle.
- Build long-term relationships to drive repeat business and account growth.
- Demonstrates the ability to create, grow, and maintain a book of business
- Contribute to weekly operations reviews and share performance data with transparency
- Work across multiple transportation modes, including truckload, intermodal, drayage, and LTL
- Adjust strategies based on mode-specific requirements and market trends
- Ensure accuracy in load entry, communication, and follow-through
- Negotiate carrier rates and source competitive pricing from truckload carriers for dry van, reefer, and flatbed shipments
- Book and dispatch loads, ensuring on-time pickup and delivery.
- Track shipments proactively, resolving issues such as delays, breakdowns, or accessorial challenges.
- Provide regular updates and transparent communication to shippers.
- Source and develop new carrier relationships to ensure cost-effective, on-time deliveries.
- Negotiate freight rates with shippers while maintaining profitable margins.
- Ensure compliance with carrier safety, insurance, and regulatory standards.
- Use internal TMS and CRM tools to manage loads, documentation, and communication.
- Build and maintain a strong carrier network across multiple modes (truckload, LTL, flatbed, reefer, etc.).
- Track and trace by monitoring active shipments, proactively resolving delays, and updating internal teams and customers

Base Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
