Craft Supplies Buyer

For over 35 years, Diamond Tech has been an innovative importer and distributor of craft supplies, selling to major retailers like Hobby Lobby and Blick. We source high-quality materials domestically and from China, India and other countries.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to manage sourcing, purchasing, and supplier coordination for our products and packaging. This role is central to maintaining our inventory, optimizing costs, and ensuring supplier quality. They should be comfortable with managing vendors, reviewing Alibaba and IndiaMART, and staying current on tariffs.

Responsibilities

• Supplier Management: Source, evaluate, and select domestic and international suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability. Manage all vendor relationships.
• Cost & Compliance: Monitor tariffs, duties, and trade regulations, and adjusting sourcing strategies as needed.
• Purchasing Lifecycle: Create, issue, and manage purchase orders. Track shipments, resolve delivery issues, and manage overall supplier performance.
• Inventory Control: Proactively review inventory levels, packaging needs, and order goods to maintain optimal in-stock and backorder levels.
• Product Collaboration: Work closely with Product Development to source new items, coordinate testing, and finalize packaging.
• Optimization: Identify continuous improvement opportunities for sourcing and cost reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles
• Strong sourcing and vendor management skills
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
