JSW Steel USA is seeking to hire a Crane Operator to join our team!
The chosen person will play a key role in supporting daily operations by safely operating cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment. This role is essential to maintaining productivity, efficiency, and safety on site. The ideal candidate will understand crane operations, adhere to all safety protocols, and demonstrate precision and focus in every task.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate cranes to lift, move, and position loads.
- Conduct thorough pre-shift inspections of crane equipment, documenting results and immediately reporting any mechanical or operational discrepancies to maintenance and supervision.
- Assist in crane maintenance and testing procedures as needed.
- Perform minor adjustments and maintenance to ensure proper crane operation, as authorized.
- Maintain clear and continuous communication with ground crew, following all directions from the signal person.
- Monitor surroundings to ensure safe movement of loads and personnel.
- Report any unusual mechanical or electrical issues immediately for corrective action.
- Exercise Stop Work Authority in the presence of hazardous conditions or unsafe behaviors, and promptly notify supervisors of any incidents, regardless of severity.
- Carry out additional tasks or duties as assigned by supervisors to support safe, efficient, and productive operations
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating cranes in an industrial or construction environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in crane inspection and testing procedures.
- Ability to identify crane and rigging load capacities and accurately calculate load weights to ensure safe operation.
- Familiarity with maintenance processes related to crane operation and performance.
- Strong awareness of safety standards and a proactive approach to hazard identification and mitigation.
