Position Summary

Connect Housing Blocks is one of the largest Modular apartment manufacturing facilities in the world. Connect and its affiliates are looking for a Crane Operator that MUST reside within 30 minutes of Columbus, OH and has impeccable attendance. Attendance will be strictly managed. A steady job history and references will be required for this position. Crane operator will be using two company owned cranes. A Tadano ATF 110-5G and a Grove RT 765E-2 to set Modular apartment complexes. This state of the art assembly method is full of growth and opportunity. Workdays will be Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely lift, hoist, position, and transport modular units and heavy loads using rigging and hoisting equipment.
  • Set up and inspect rigging and lifting equipment to ensure safe operations.
  • Align, level, and position modular units, machinery, and structural components.
  • Read and interpret crane load charts and determine proper load and radius capacities.
  • Communicate clearly with riggers and site personnel using hand signals and verbal cues.
  • Supervise and guide Crane Riggers as needed.
  • Assist with assembly and disassembly of rigging and hoisting components.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Operate forklifts as required (OSHA certification required).
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Participate in safety meetings and strictly follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Equipment Operated

The Crane Operator will primarily operate two company-owned cranes:

  • Tadano ATF 110-5G
  • Grove RT 765E-2

Work Schedule

  • Monday–Friday
  • 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, based on project needs
  • Overtime and weekends as required

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must reside within 30 minutes of Columbus, OH.
  • 5+ years of crane operation experience.
  • NCCCO Crane Operator Certification.
  • Proven, steady job history with verifiable references.
  • Strong attendance record (attendance is strictly enforced).
  • Ability to read and interpret crane load charts.
  • Knowledge of construction rigging, including slings, chokers, and spreader bars.
  • Ability to pass a crane operations certification test.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to wear and properly use PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, etc.).
  • Frequent climbing, walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Ability to climb vertical ladders 10 feet or higher.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Maintain focus and composure in high-pressure or emergency situations.

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
