Job Description:

At adlance, we see Graphic Design as visual storytelling that engages, informs, and inspires. We're looking for a talented graphic designer who can take concepts and ideas and create visual representations, in both print and electronic media.

Objectives of this role

  • Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various software programs to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals
  • Obtain input from managers to ensure that designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the company or client appropriately
  • Work independently as well as cooperatively with the marketing team to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and schedule project implementation based on workload, which may include five or more simultaneous projects
  • Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and create solutions that improve design capabilities
  • Update and maintain internal databases for designs, photography, and video

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams or clients on a wide range of materials that may include web pages, presentations, programming collateral, signage, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing materials
  • Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity
  • Develop concepts by hand or with software, and execute original content by determining the ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout
  • Manage the design and uploading process for all project materials, based on best practices for using a content management system
  • Use trend intelligence and knowledge of historical and current markets when designing and executing specific classifications

Required skills for this role

  • Creativity: The hallmark of a great graphic designer lies in their ability to generate novel and imaginative concepts that communicate complex messages through visuals.
  • Design Software Proficiency: Mastery of industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) is non-negotiable, enabling designers to manipulate images, create vector graphics, and design layouts effectively.
  • Typography: Understanding the art of typography is pivotal in conveying emotions, hierarchy, and tone in visual compositions, adding depth to the overall design.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulousness is paramount; graphic designers scrutinize every detail to ensure alignment, accuracy, and pixel-perfect precision.
  • Communication: Collaboration is at the core of a graphic designer's role. They must effectively communicate with clients, marketing teams, and other designers to comprehend project requirements and translate them into visuals.
  • Time Management: Given the fast-paced nature of digital marketing, graphic designers must adhere to tight deadlines while maintaining the quality of their work.

  • Adobe Creative Suite: This powerhouse suite, comprising Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and more, equips designers with the means to create, manipulate, and refine visuals with precision.
  • Figma: A collaborative interface design tool that facilitates the creation of interactive prototypes and design mockups, fostering efficient teamwork and iteration.
  • Canva: As an accessible online platform, Canva enables designers to swiftly produce graphics and social media visuals, catering to rapid design needs.
  • Typography Tools: Leveraging platforms like Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts, designers can experiment with diverse typography options to enhance visual appeal and readability.
