Creative Director and New Media Strategist

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand seeks a Creative Director and New Media Strategist to join her communications team. This role would work with the Communications Director to develop digital first strategies, rapid response, and grow the Senator’s online presence across media platforms. This role is based in Washington, DC.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Lead outreach and pitching to new media and creators

2. Oversee weekly and long-term new media planning

3. Spearhead office’s rapid response efforts

4. Produce and edit short and long-form videos across multiple platforms

5. Develop graphics showcasing the Senator’s leadership, including infographics, flyers for in-state events and other visual media content

6. Manage digital staff

7. Possibly travel to record and edit content

Qualifications include:

1. Fluency and proficiency in video editing and graphic

2. Ability to produce high quality under tight deadlines

3. Ability to translate complicated legislative/policy ideas into compelling media

4. Experience with photography and videography a plus
