Credit Analyst


SUMMARY:
Responsible for evaluating the financial health of commercial, real estate, and small business loan applicants. This role supports the bank’s lending officers by performing in-depth financial analysis, assessing creditworthiness, preparing credit memos, and monitoring the ongoing performance of loan portfolios. The Credit Analyst plays a key role in ensuring the Bank’s credit decisions are sound, prudent, and aligned with regulatory and internal risk management standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and interpret financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow statements of individuals and businesses.
  • Prepare comprehensive written credit memoranda with risk ratings and recommendations for loan committee review.
  • Conduct collateral analysis and evaluate loan structures for appropriate risk mitigation.
  • Preform annual reviews on existing borrower relationships, including covenant compliance and financial performance tracking.
  • Work closely with commercial lenders and senior credit officers to structure new and renewed credit requests.
  • Stay current with industry trends, local market conditions, and regulatory guidance.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the bank’s loan portfolio by identifying early warning signs of credit deterioration.
  • Support internal audits, loan reviews, and regulatory examinations by providing required financial documentation and analysis.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position does not require supervisory responsibility.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in banking, commercial lending, or credit analysis preferred (internship or relevant experience considered).
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, and risk assessment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to prepare clear, concise reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and financial analysis software.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively as part of a team

  • General office equipment (computer, printer, fax, copy machine), scanner, adding machine, calculator.
