Credit Analyst, Salina KS

The Credit Analyst supports the Bank’s lending and credit administration functions by performing comprehensive financial and credit risk analyses for new and existing commercial loan relationships. This role prepares detailed credit memos, conducts annual reviews, evaluates borrower performance, and ensures adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail‑oriented, and committed to delivering high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Credit Analysis — Perform in‑depth analysis of new credit requests, renewals, modifications, and annual relationship reviews.
  • Credit Memo Preparation — Prepare clear, accurate, and comprehensive credit memos with financial analysis, collateral evaluation, and recommendations for loan officers and loan committees.
  • Risk Rating Assessment — Recommend risk rating changes based on quantitative and qualitative findings.
  • Portfolio Review Participation — Participate in portfolio review committees and other meetings to discuss borrower performance and emerging risks.
  • Issue Escalation — Report concerns to the Chief Credit Officer regarding collateral deterioration or repayment risk.
  • Policy Compliance — Maintain strong knowledge of lending policies and identify exceptions or documentation gaps.
  • Documentation & File Quality — Ensure credit files are complete, accurate, and compliant with internal and regulatory guidelines; coordinate with loan officers to resolve deficiencies.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Work closely with lenders to assemble complete loan packages and support timely credit decisions.
  • Additional Duties — Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support credit administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field; or two years of strong quantitative or analytical experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, financial analysis tools, and general computer applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high‑volume environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies in financial data.
  • Willingness to learn and develop expertise in financial statements, credit ratios, and commercial lending concepts.
