Heritage Cooperative is looking for a dynamic, self-starter to join our credit and collections team. This role is responsible for calling and collecting on past due customer accounts within Heritage Cooperative. The Credit Associate will perform a variety of duties relating to collecting past due accounts such as but not limited to speaking with the customers relating to their account, collecting money for past due balances, working with cash application, and sending out paperwork to update customer accounts.
Responsibilities - Conduct collection calls to collect Accounts Receivable
- Answer incoming calls and assist customers with account questions
- Work with cash application
- Reconcile customer statements/billings
- Review individual customer accounts to identify and select delinquent accounts for collections and credit holds
- Ability to identify potential problem areas and appropriately escalate to manager as needed
- Communicate credit department policy and procedures to company personnel
- Will require understanding of handling confidential/personal information
- Minimize bad debt risk and maximize accounts receivable collections
- Communicate with multiple departments to resolve customer payment issues/discrepancies
- Manage the over 90 customer list for distribution
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications - Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels within the company
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- 3-5 years collections experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Demands - Ability to sit at a desk for one or more hours at a time
- Ability to operate computer and other equipment in the office
- Ability to occasionally lift heavy objects no more than 50 pounds
