Job Description:

The Credit Risk Analyst will develop and evaluate credit risk indicators, forecast capital exposure, and implement risk policies and underwriting guidelines. The Credit Risk Analyst will provide analytical and financial support for credit approvals, portfolio structuring, and risk assessment, while coordinating with internal teams and external partners. Additionally, the position handles special projects, prepares portfolio metrics for senior leadership, and assists with training and concept reviews for new loan products and platforms.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reporting on Open Banking Credit relationships which includes reports for Loan Committee and the Board as well as the quarterly call report.
  • Provide Open Banking client policy assessment, process evaluation, commercial exposure assessment.
  • Develop and evaluate risk indicators for Open Banking Credit, assessing performance against expectations, and develop forecast capabilities for credit risk and capital exposure.
  • Assist Credit Administration team in implementation of Open Banking credit risk policies, procedures & underwriting guidelines.
  • Perform monthly Current Expected Credit Loss forecast model.
  • Support Paycargo Finance and other clients as needed and serve to coordinate requests for new credit approvals and renewals between clients and the Credit Administration team.
  • Provide ad hoc data and analytical support for Chief Credit Officer.
  • Assist in financial analysis, identification of the primary risk drivers, structuring of the loan portfolios, overall assessment of risk and ability to repay.
  • Participate in the platform approval process and provide recommendations.
  • Assist Loan Operations in solving loan related structure questions.
  • Assist in the process of vetting new loan products or niche markets.
  • Compile requested portfolio metrics for Chief Credit Officer.
  • Special Projects and Requests, as needed.
  • Work with Open Banking and support areas on training programs and concept reviews for specific loan requests.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in data analytics in support of lending risk management, preferably at a financial institution or advisory firm.
  • Graduate degree in any applied analytical science (statistics, operations research, econometrics, business analytics, or math) or commensurate work experience is preferred.
  • Bachelors’ degree and sufficient coursework in business, economics, business analytics or similar areas is required.

  • Comfortable with conflicting views of others and able to adequately express their point of view
  • Willingness to take ownership of recommendations and balance loan production with the proper risk/reward relationship
