Credit Risk Analyst


Job Summary

The Credit Risk Analyst supports the risk management function by identifying, assessing, and monitoring credit risks related to automobile financing products. The role involves customer credit assessment, portfolio monitoring, risk reporting, and ensuring adherence to internal credit and risk policies.


Key Responsibilities

1. Credit Risk Assessment & Analysis

  • Assist in evaluating the creditworthiness of customers applying for auto financing.
  • Review financial statements, income documents, credit reports, and other supporting documents.
  • Support risk profiling of retail and SME clients.
  • Highlight potential credit risk concerns and exceptions for review.

2. Portfolio Monitoring

  • Monitor the performance of the auto finance portfolio.
  • Track delinquency trends, defaults, and early warning indicators.
  • Support analysis of portfolio quality, concentration, and risk exposure.

3. Policy Implementation

  • Apply internal credit and risk policies during financing review and approval processes.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating risk procedures, credit criteria, and risk frameworks.
  • Ensure proper documentation of risk assessments and approvals.

4. Data & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate risk databases, records, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare regular credit risk reports, dashboards, and KPI summaries.
  • Support ad hoc analysis for management, credit, and collections teams.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with credit, collections, finance, and operations teams.
  • Support follow-up on risk-related issues, exceptions, and portfolio trends.


Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification or progress toward CFA, CPA, ACCA, FRM, or similar certification is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Islamic finance is preferred.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in risk, credit analysis, audit, assurance, banking, financing, or financial services.
  • Fresh graduates with strong analytical skills may also be considered.

Skills

  • Basic understanding of credit risk, financial analysis, and portfolio monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Islamic finance concepts such as Murabaha and Ijara is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools or dashboards is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
