Crew Leader – Drainage
Starting Salary: $46,165
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Crew Leader to supervise our public works drainage crew. Join our team and contribute to essential city operations with the following responsibilities and requirements:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise crews in public works repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Assign, participate in, and inspect work; handle emergency calls.
  • Utilize computer systems for preparing reports, emails, and time sheets.
  • Oversee cleaning and preventive maintenance of equipment.
  • Operate and supervise operation of trucks and heavy equipment.
  • Engage with the public professionally, addressing complaints and inquiries.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Drainage Responsibilities:
  • Locate existing utilities and assist contractors and homeowners.
  • Clean drop inlets and storm drains for effective storm system runoff.
  • Support utility crew with water and sewer system installations and repairs.
  • Participate in emergency operations, including snow and ice removal and utility repairs.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of experience in supervising public works maintenance and repairs, or equivalent education/experience.
Special Requirements:
  • CPR Certification
  • Work Zone Certification
  • Flagging Certification
  • Traffic Safety License
  • Classified 5 Water License
  • Valid commercial driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of public works maintenance and repair principles.
  • Familiarity with city laws, ordinances, and safety regulations.
  • Strong supervisory and managerial capabilities.
  • Proficient in data computation and equipment operation.
  • Effective in problem resolution and decision making.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and operating manuals.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence teams.
