Role Summary

The Enhancement Crew Lead runs day-to-day enhancement work and delivers consistent, high-quality results on pruning, mulch and river rock installs, and roof and gutter cleaning. This role sets the pace for the crew, keeps work safe and organized, communicates clearly, and represents Hartman Landscaping professionally on every property. You will occasionally assist the construction team as needed.

  • Jobs are completed safely, on schedule, and to a “finished” standard (no missed details).
  • The crew has clear direction, good attitudes, and steady improvement through coaching.
  • Materials are managed well (minimal waste, correct quantities, clean installs).
  • Customer experience is strong (professional communication, clean job sites, no surprises).
  • Issues are communicated early (scope questions, damaged items, access issues, safety hazards).

Core ResponsibilitiesCrew Leadership and Daily Execution

  • Lead a crew of one or more team members through daily enhancement projects.
  • Review the scope and job notes before starting, confirm expectations, and assign roles.
  • Manage workflow and time, keep production moving while protecting quality.
  • Train and mentor crew members through clear instruction and on-the-job coaching.
  • Maintain open communication, give constructive feedback, and address problems early.

Enhancement Work, Quality, and Craftsmanship

  • Perform and oversee pruning and trimming for health, structure, and appearance.
  • Install mulch and river rock with clean edges, proper depth, weed control approach as directed, and a clean finish.
  • Perform roof and gutter cleaning safely and thoroughly, protect landscaping and structures, and leave the site clean.
  • Assist the construction team as needed, supporting job site cleanliness and productivity.

Safety, Job Site Organization, and Equipment Care

  • Enforce safety protocols and PPE requirements as outlined by management.
  • Identify hazards (ladders, roofs, traffic, flying debris, lifting) and correct them before work continues.
  • Maintain clean, organized job sites from arrival to departure.
  • Ensure tools, trucks, and trailers are used properly, inspected, and kept clean, report issues immediately.

Communication and Documentation

  • Use our crew app for coordination, updates, and clear job notes.
  • Use basic AI tools (as directed) to support efficient coordination and communication.
  • Communicate scope questions, material needs, and customer concerns to management promptly.
  • Represent Hartman Landscaping professionally with clients and the public.

Qualifications

Required

  • Proven landscaping leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management and organization
  • Willingness to learn technology, including our crew app and basic AI tools
  • Clean driving record required
  • Ability to perform physical work outdoors in varying weather

Preferred

  • Experience leading pruning, mulch/rock installs, and detail-oriented enhancement work
  • Comfort with ladder safety and roof/gutter service work
