Overview

We are looking for a Crewing Officer to manage crew operations for our vessels, including crew changes, documentation, and compliance. The role requires ADNOC experience, handling visas, travel, and local regulations. Strong organization and communication skills are essential to ensure smooth coordination between ship and shore teams.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure crew changes on all vessels are effectively executed, working closely with the Crewing Manager.
  • Ensure day to day crew operation and crewing support are met consistently and facilitate a good working environment and interaction between ship and shore-based personnel.
  • Efficiently implement manning decisions made by the Crew Manager.

Manage crew changes for all Astro owned vessels which includes:

  • Ensure all traveling crew personnel are qualified, vetted and checked (by the Crewing Manager) prior to arranging full deployment.
  • Arrange Crew CV packages, Crew Medical packages, and other client requirements.
  • If required, arrange travel bookings for crew changes, LOI application, crew visas, and crew training.
  • Timely coordination with the client and agents for crew changes and other crewing matters which require attention.
  • Third party vessel support: Assist on crew mobilization, which is not limited to: medical and training where required

Managerial Support – directly report to Crew Manager and assist with the following:

  • Support in managing all aspects of seagoing personnel documentation and crew records such as Crew Certificates and documentation, training, medical, and others are accurately updated, organized and sorted daily.
  • If required, arrange flag state mandatory documentation (MPA, Panama, MI etc.).
  • Support the Crewing department on checking and coding of invoice, raise and issue PO’s and other crew ad-hoc related matters, if required.
  • Liaise with other departments where required.


Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience with ADNOC is mandatory.
  • Must have prior experience and exposure in Crewing for marine industry. Oil and Gas is preferred.
  • Previous experience working for any major charterer in the Middle East.
  • Previous experience with ARAMCO/QG/QP is highly preferred.
  • Solid number of years of crewing experience.
  • Sound knowledge on MLC 2006, crew’s competency, STCW requirements, Flag State requirements and other vessel crew matters.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be highly efficient, tactful, adaptable and resourceful in dealing with all crew matters.
  • Must know how to work independently and able to quickly identify pros and cons whilst making reasonable and measured decisions.
  • Ability to handle pressure on a frequent basis.
  • Strong communication and written skills.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.


Qualifications

  •  Minimum Bachelor’s or Undergraduate Degree-holder from University or College
  • As per the latest National regulations and/or client requirements.
