Salary Information:
The salary for this position is negotiated through a collective bargaining agreement. All new employees will be hired at the minimum salary in the range and will be eligible for merit increases until reaching the maximum salary in the range.
Definition
Incumbents assess, evaluate, and analyze crime prevention and community policing needs; develop and implement crime prevention and community policing programs to foster community involvement; make public presentations and provide crime prevention training sessions.

Application Screening (Pass/Fail)
Applications will be reviewed to determine those candidates who meet the minimum qualifications. These qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the remainder of the testing process set forth below. Applicants will be notified of the results of the screening process via email. Exam #1: Written Exam (Weighted 20%) – Wednesday, May 27, 2026
Exam #2: Practical Exam (Weighted 20%) –Wednesday, June 3, 2026
Exam #3: Oral Board Interview (Weighted 60%) – Beginning Tuesday, June 16, 2026 (Top Scoring Candidates Only)
Exam Information:
Prior to the start of the Written Exam, there will be a seminar for candidates to learn about this position. The Written Exam will immediately follow the seminar.
Only candidates who pass the Written Exam and earn the TOP SCORES, plus ties, as determined by sound personnel practices, will be invited to participate in the Practical Exam.
Only candidates who pass the Practical Exam and earn the TOP SCORES, plus ties, as determined by sound personnel practices, will be invited to participate in the Oral Board Interview.
