CRIMINAL CALENDAR COORDINATOR
(Class Code 202C)

The Criminal Calendar Coordinator position is only open to current employees of the San Francisco Superior Court who (1) are under a permanent appointment with the Court, or (2) previously held a permanent appointment and accepted a temporary appointment without a break in service. Individuals who are not current employees of the Court, or current temporary Court employees who did not previously hold a permanent appointment with the Court without a break in service may not apply.
The Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, invites applications from qualified individuals interested in the Criminal Calendar Coordinator position. Duties include planning, organizing, and managing the scheduling and transferring of cases among Court departments; overseeing and supervising staff in the preparation and updating of court calendars, and the maintenance of case files and records; performing a variety of administrative support functions; and performing other job-related duties as required.
This selection process is being conducted in accordance with San Francisco Superior Court Personnel Rule 4. An eligibility list will not be established.

COMPENSATION:
$4,139.30 to $5,031.46 biweekly ($107,622 to $130,818 annually)

Position Overview

Manages, directs, and oversees assigned staff in the preparation of daily criminal calendars and the transfer of cases among criminal court departments.

Ensures proper work coverage in the criminal courts by scheduling assigned judges and performing related administrative functions.

Organizes, schedules, and assigns work; sets priorities and reviews work assignments; provides assistance to staff in resolving difficult work problems; trains and instructs staff in work methods and procedures.

Provides input for employee selection decisions and for the improvement of court services.

Conducts performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.

Identifies appropriate facilities and staff availability for case transfers.

Identifies potential facility scheduling problems and conflicts, as well as improper courtroom coverage, reporting problems to appropriate judicial and administrative staff.

Assists judicial officers with criminal calendaring problems, assigning and transferring cases as necessary.

Responds to special requests.

Researches and resolves difficult customer service problems and questions.

Performs a wide variety of complex and technical support work requiring a detailed understanding of overall court functions and procedures.

Reviews documents, researches discrepancies, and verifies information.

Provides information to attorneys, litigants, and the public regarding calendaring functions and case transfers.

Regularly serves as a liaison with other court units, law enforcement agencies, and concerned parties.

Compiles statistical information; maintains and updates files and databases; and generates computer reports.

Operates a variety of office machines and equipment such as computers, typewriters, and calculators.

Performs other job-related duties as required.
Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office and courtroom environment; continuous contact with judicial officers, litigants, attorneys, executive managers, other staff and the general public.
Physical Requirements: Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; lift and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment, including computer, telephone, calculator, copiers, and FAX.
Required Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Five or more years of increasingly responsible experience performing a variety of administrative and/or clerical functions in a legal or court environment. Preferably, one of those five years should include scheduling, organizing, and directing the work of other employees, and/or be in a recognized leadership role.
Desirable Qualifications
Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

SELECTION PROCESS
Initial Screening
Complete application packages received by the final filing date and time will be evaluated to determine if the applicants meet the minimum qualifications. The Court will further evaluate these documents and may interview only those applicants it deems may best meet the needs of the Court. Not all applicants will receive an interview.
Oral Interview
If necessary, selected applicants may be interviewed to determine their relative knowledge, abilities, and skill levels in job-related areas. If interviews are scheduled, it is anticipated that they will be held in March 2026.
