Criminal Defense Attorney

Position Overview

We are seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney with hands-on litigation experience who can independently manage cases from intake through trial. The ideal candidate is comfortable in court, confident taking depositions, and skilled in motion practice and oral advocacy.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle a criminal caseload from intake through resolution
  • Conduct depositions of law enforcement, witnesses, and experts
  • Appear in court for hearings, calendar calls, and trials
  • Draft and argue motions (suppression, dismissal, bond, discovery, etc.)
  • Meet with clients in jail and maintain consistent communication
  • Negotiate with prosecutors and develop case strategy
  • Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation and evidentiary review

Qualifications

  • Licensed and in good standing with The Florida Bar
  • Criminal defense experience required
  • Deposition experience required
  • Trial experience strongly preferred
  • Strong motion drafting and oral argument skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and caseload independently
  • Comfortable meeting clients in jail settings

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Jury trial experience as lead or second chair
  • Experience with serious felony litigation
  • Familiarity with Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure and evidentiary litigation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced litigation environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
