Full-Time Criminal Defense Paralegal

Location: In-Office (Not Remote)

Firm: Criminal Defense Law Firm – State & Federal Practice

We are a fast-paced criminal defense firm seeking a full-time paralegal to join our team. Our practice handles a wide variety of cases in both state and federal court, ranging from misdemeanors to serious and complex felony matters. This position requires professionalism, precision, discretion, and the ability to operate under pressure.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, detail-oriented, punctual, personable, and capable of multitasking in a demanding environment. Strong communication, research, and writing skills are essential. Prior law firm or government law experience is required

Responsibilities:

• Drafting and preparing court documents, pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and trial exhibits
• Organizing and managing discovery and evidence
• Scheduling hearings and court appearances in state and federal court
• Assisting attorneys during trials and motion hearings
• Managing incoming calls (screening, forwarding, scheduling, client communication)
• Conducting client intakes and greeting visitors
• Coordinating appointments and managing court calendars
• Providing information to prospective clients
• Assisting with firm marketing efforts, including website and social media updates
• Collecting legal fees and maintaining professional client communication
• Preparing and processing mail and courier deliveries
• Supporting attorneys and clients with day-to-day case management needs

Qualifications:

• Prior law firm experience required (criminal defense experience strongly preferred)
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional demeanor and client-focused mindset
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion

This is an in-office position. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a criminal defense practice that handles meaningful cases and fights hard for its clients.

Compensation commensurate with experience.
