Minimum
Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited
college or university and must meet the prerequisites and
complete the Basic Law Enforcement Training Program
certification; or two (2) years of experience in law
enforcement or related field and Georgia P.O.S.T.
certification. Note: Some positions may require the
incumbent to have a valid Class C driver's license.

Preferred
Qualification:

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. Two years of experience as a sworn staff member in law enforcement or corrections. Two years of experience in criminal and/or administrative investigations. Possession of Basic Law Enforcement (PBLE) Certification.

Note:

This is the entry salary is for a Criminal Investigator 1 who has not completed Basic Mandate Training. Once mandate training is completed, the investigator's salary will be increased to $55,520.14. Applicants who have already completed mandate training will be hired at $55,520.14.
