Position Summary:
The Family Crisis Center (FCC) Crisis Advocate is responsible for providing crisis intervention, advocacy, and support services to victims/survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. This position must be able to adapt to the changing needs of clients and provide services in a caring and compassionate manner. This role requires independent judgment and discretion when making decisions related to client safety, service delivery, and crisis operations. This includes supervising staff, volunteers, interns, visitors, and clients. It also includes professionally interfacing with community partners to build new and maintain existing relationships. All FCC staff share client service and other responsibilities of the organization, as required.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
CRISIS SERVICES:
· Provide access to hotline services are available and accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, crisis services and emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
· Provide client-centered, trauma-informed crisis intervention, safety planning, orientation, intake, needs assessment, personal advocacy, accompaniment, referral, and face-to-face contact or by phone contact.
· Provide on-call duties as scheduled.
· Provide transportation services to clients.
· Facilitate peer support groups for clients.
· Conduct weekly client follow-up.
· Build and maintain collaborations with criminal justice system and other partner agencies.
· Document services provided, hours worked, mileage, and other activities and prepare reports to meet grant requirements.
· Attend required meetings, training, and other forms of professional development.
· Maintain organized workspace, accurate records, and attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
