Job Title: Critical Care Nurse / ICU NurseJob Summary
A Critical Care Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The role involves continuous patient monitoring, use of advanced medical equipment, administration of medications, and close coordination with intensivists and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess critically ill patients, including vital signs, neurological status, cardiac rhythms, and oxygenation
- Provide bedside care to patients on mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, and oxygen therapy
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and vasoactive drugs as prescribed
- Operate and manage ICU equipment such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, syringe pumps, infusion pumps, and defibrillators
- Assist doctors during procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, arterial line placement, and dialysis
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation in patient records
- Identify early signs of patient deterioration and initiate emergency interventions
- Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and isolation protocols
- Provide emotional support and basic education to patients and their families
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH/JCI standards, and patient safety protocols
Qualifications
- General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution
- Valid registration with the State Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council (INC)
- ICU or critical care experience preferred (fresher nurses may be considered with ICU training)
- Post Basic Diploma in Critical Care Nursing (desirable)

- Knowledge of critical care medications and emergency protocols
- Ability to handle high-stress and emergency situations
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Basic computer skills for documentation

Work Environment
- High-acuity ICU setting (Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, Neuro, or Trauma ICU)
- Rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Physically and emotionally demanding role.

Pay: ₹18,155.53 - ₹35,000.00 per month
