- Assist in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of data center HVAC systems and supporting infrastructure with minimal supervision.
- Perform all duties of an HVAC Technician I, while gaining experience in advanced troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and shop drawings to support system diagnostics and repairs.
- Assist with air and water balancing to optimize energy use and maintain occupant comfort.
- Conduct routine and emergency maintenance on a variety of HVAC equipment, including:
- Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers
- Centrifugal and screw package chillers
- Natural gas boilers and unit heaters
- Electric duct heaters
- Cooling towers
- Pneumatic, DDC, and Variable Frequency Drive controls
- Air distribution systems (AHUs, FCUs, fans, and related devices)
- Various types of water pumps used in HVAC applications
- Travel up to 30% as required for site support and maintenance activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial HVAC service experience required; 4 years preferred.
- Knowledge of refrigeration principles and basic electricity for HVAC systems.
- Proficiency with HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, blueprints, and shop drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software.
- HVAC/R Servicing Certificate (preferred).
- EPA Universal refrigerant recovery certification (preferred).
- Valid Virginia or Maryland drivers license.
- Must be a US citizen; ability to obtain security clearance is preferred.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
